FAQ

Questions about the research process.

How Rockpoint sources data, what the reports contain, and the compliance boundaries we hold to.

Do you contact insurance carriers or defendants?+

No. Rockpoint never contacts carriers, adjusters, insureds, or defendants. We make no pre-text calls of any kind. Every report is inference-based, compiled from public records, licensed third-party data, and proprietary modeling.

How accurate are the coverage figures?+

Coverage figures are Rockpoint's estimates based on the available data — not confirmations from any insurance carrier. We calibrate our models against known outcomes, and every report clearly identifies which findings are estimated versus sourced from public record.

How fast is delivery?+

Standard delivery is in hours, not weeks. Turnaround depends on the analysis type and how much identifying information you provide about the defendant.

What information do you need to start?+

The named defendant and jurisdiction at minimum. Any additional case context — incident type, entities involved, known carriers — improves the depth and speed of the report.

What types of analysis do you offer?+

Personal Policy Limits Analysis, Commercial Policy Limits Analysis, and a Policy Existence Analysis for when the carrier is unknown. Every report includes a full Defendant Analysis so the coverage number arrives with context.

Is a Rockpoint report a consumer report under the FCRA?+

No. Our reports are not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and may not be used for credit, employment, tenant-screening, or insurance-underwriting decisions.

Can reports integrate with our case-management system?+

Yes. Our OpenAPI connects to your case-management platform so reports can be requested and returned automatically, without leaving your workflow.
